What Tsu Is and Could Be In The Future!
You may have read or heard about what Tsu is, ‘a social media and payment platform’ but have you ever imagined what Tsu could be in the future?
Tsu.co is changing the way many people think about their content. Social media users in the past have freely provided their personal details, likes, photos and life-content to websites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, or any of the countless social websites that are out there.
In return, they became a product.Their data and likeness has been traded or sold to advertisers so that the social site they use can become profitable. Being sold as a commodity has become the norm as well as a lucrative source of income for those who operate and invest in those platforms.
But how is Tsu.co different?
The significant difference between Tsu and other social networks can be summed up in the 3 points which are proudly included in their Frequently Asked Questions:
- Ownership – Tsu believes in real ownership, which only exists when users own the rights to their content and the economics that come with it. They believe that users should be compensated for their likeness, image and content.
- Access – Tsu shares social revenues with everyone, for any type of content, size of network or level of influence.
- Empowerment – Tsu.co’s model is global, scalable, and designed to empower the user. For the first time every user can be a content creator earning royalties in perpetuity.
In practice, Tsu rewards the social activity of their users by compensating them with 90% of the revenue generated by online ads their content generates. This unique and game-changing idea is nothing like what social media users have grown accustomed to. In essence, being payed to post engaging content opens the door to a bright new future that I feel many people are overlooking.
A Payment Platform
Underneath the social media exterior is a payment platform very similar to Pay-Pal which currently allows over 161.5 million consumersto easily pay for goods and services with the click of a button or a swipe of the finger on their mobile device. These payments resulted in over 64 billion dollars worth of sales and purchases by consumers during the 4th quarter of 2014. From these sales, Pay-Pal earned 2.3% per transaction which totaled 7.9 billion dollars of revenue during the same time period.
But Tsu is not Pay-Pal you say. You’re right, but Pay-Pal is definitely not Tsu. The fact that social networking has not peaked and many believe that by 2017, the global social network audience will total 2.55 billion. Currently, 25 percent of people, that’s 1 in 4 in the world now use social media – but it won’t stop there. Analysts believe that there will be massive growth in Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa over the next few years.
The Future of Tsu.co
Enter Tsu.co’s Future: Although Tsu is still in an early development stage, there isn’t any official competition. After garnering almost 3 million users in it’s first 4 months, outpacing user growth by any other social media network that has ever existed, it’s well on its way to solidifying its place as an economic engine for social media users worldwide.
Pay-Pal only allows a user to load money onto its platform – not generate it. This is a huge difference. Just try to imagine how Tsu’s platform will bring about the creation of new opportunities for not just its users, but businesses all around the world to sell their goods and services online.
Proof of this is already evident in some of the charities that already haveofficial accounts on Tsu.co.
Since joining just over 2 months ago,Detroit Water Brigade, a volunteer-led alliance of Detroiters and international allies working to bring emergency relief and advocacy to families facing water shut-offs has received so much attention that one of its founders has turned his back to facebook and has begun exclusively using Tsu.co.
Justin Wedes declared in a post on his website that:
I am a man. And I deserve to own and be paid for my creative work, not to be turned into an attractive canvas for someone else’s advertising.
Obviously, charities are not the only ones to benefit from Tsu’s economic creating concept,Kimberly Henderson, a mother of four from South Carolina whose viral lullaby gained the attention of over 27 million Facebook users earned nothing for the countless views to Facebook’s advertisers.
“I made a lot of money on Tsu in just the short time,” Henderson told ABC News. “I posted the lullaby on Facebook and it got over 27 million views in a week. I have almost 500,000 views on Tsu and I made $157 in one night. You don’t even have to do anything different. You just do it like you post on Facebook. I think people get scared about new things but you actually get to make money from your content.”
As I mentioned, Tsu is still in its infant stage. According to Anthony Long, a developer at Tsu, there are “a staggering amount of things in the pipeline”
So what can we expect?
For users, I can see a continued opportunity to be compensated for the use of their likeness and content as well as the growing ability to connect with people from all around the world.
For businesses, the ability to increase their return on investment (ROI) on spent marketing and advertising dollars by earning cash back for potential consumers just visiting their businesses Tsu page.
Although this is pure speculation, I imagine that Tsu Founder Sebastian Sobczak envisions a future where Tsu.co offers someone in the 3rd world who only has $0.15 (backed by the green back and not their unstable currency) the ability to transfer any of that amount for milk, water, goods, or services with a local merchant accepting Tsu.
Think of how powerful that is. Every person having an opportunity to obtain real purchasing power and use it to better their lives. All through the economics created by simply sharing the unique quality content they generate.
The future of Tsu could be quite bright and life-changing indeed.
